Younger Students (K-2)
Use pictures on the scavenger hunt list
Emphasize sensory exploration

Focus on broad categories (color, size)
Older Students (6-8)
Require scientific names or specific species ID
Ask for ecological interactions (predator/prey, etc.)
Encourage independent or leadership roles
Focus on detailed observations (leaf margins, tracks)
Safety & Environmental Considerations
Review “Leave No Trace” practices.
Caution students about poison ivy, insects, and fragile habitats.
Remind students to observe wildlife from a distance.
